OUR
MISSION
It is the mission of this website to set up
and maintain an interface medium between the Homeowners and the Board of Directors and provide timely news and information
reporting about the LaJolla Homeowners' Association and Owner feedback, bringing transparency and responsibility
into dealings and operation of the LaJolla Condominium complex....
PRIVACY NOTICE: Due to partial
Identity Theft inflicted on two of our residents who were listed on the RESIDENTS' page, all personal information with
the exception of the names of the residents previously introduced has been removed effective today, January 2, 2010.
This measure is to ensure that no further "mining" of our information will occur. In the future, the "NEIGHBORS"
page will be either removed or will continue to show only pictures of the residents but, for the present, pictures and names
remain.
To fund the level of maintenance necessary to keep LaJolla a clean and well-run comdo complex, all
of us must pay the required Maintenance Fees. For personal reasons, a few Owners have chosen NOT to
pay fees at all. This is simply not acceptable behavior. Some owe amounts running into a few thousand dollars. Failure
to settle your account will trigger continued action by the HOA and finally result in a legal lien against the condominium
itself. If you are significantly in arrears, please contact the LaJolla Office and arrange for a conference to
find a way for you to bring past debts up to date. Your condominium's beauty and value are at stake.
On Saturday, March 20 at 1:00 PM in the La Jolla clubhouse, the annual meeting of Homeowners
was held. Elected to office were Sr. Pablo Gonzalez, Administrator; Tom Goodman, Secretary and Dean Peterseim, Treasurer.

EARTHQUAKE IN BAJA
At around 3:40PM on Easter Sunday, May 4, a magnitude 7+ earthquake hit the
area of Baja California near Mexicali, doing considerable damage to Mexicali and surrounding area. Since that time,
we have received several phone calls and eMails wondering just what happened in Rosarito. Well, the answer to the question
is, "almost nothing". No damage has been seen or reported to the La Jolla condominium complex and there were
no known injuries here in Rosarito. At the time of the earthquake, my wife and I had just settled in for a movie
at the local Cinepolis and I, at first, thought somebody was kicking the back of my seat. When I turned around to confront
the guilty party, I discovered that there was nobody sitting behind me. Aided by that piece of vital information, I
quickly arrived at the decision that we must be having an earthquake. The shaking continued at a mild level for a bit
longer than a half minute and then stopped. The movie continued without interruption and most, if not all, of the audience
stayed quietly seated watching the movie. Suddenly, the lights came on and some very officious employees insisted that
we evacuate...we did. Outside, we found a group of relatively calm individuals who couldn't seem to figure out if
they were more excited about an interrupted movie or an earthquake. Not wishing to waste time, we walked to the
Applebee's Restaurant nearby and were seated for dinner without any sense of urgency or alarm. After consuming a
delicious dinner, we walked back to the Cinepolis just to find all of the employees sitting around the outside wondering what
to do. After we discovered that our ticket stubs would be honored for another movie within a month, we drove home where
we found the elevators working, electricity on, water uninterrupted, the TelNor telephone working but cellular service unavailable.
Upstairs, we discovered Paulina, out part-time housekeeper happily at work. In short, the powerful Mexicali earthquake
was pretty much a non-event in Rosarito. That's my story and I'm sticking with it.
