As we all know, living as close to the ocean as we do has drawbacks. Some
of these are the propensity of everything metal to rust, corrode, oxidize, erode, collect pigeon excrement, turn funny
looking or otherwise. This includes the steel beams that support the garage roof. Don Mese has been given the
considerable task of cleaning the rust and debris off of the beams and repainting for another few years' protection.

This is a close-up picture of the accumulation of
rust on one of the garage beams. Don Mese, with the aid of his trusty paint scraper, wire brush and sandpaper, is working
hard to paint the beams in the Lower Garage.

Here we have Don Mese working to remove the rust and
other debris (read Pigeon Poop) from the topside of the support beams for the upper garage and the lower garage ceiling.
After scraping, chipping, sanding and priming, the beams will be given a good coat of paint to help prevent rust in the future.
